![]() ![]() They don't need to endless support Wildermyth with new content like it's World of Warcraft, but at least give it a few years before saying "maybe it's time the Developers move onto a new project." Not even a full year yet, so saying that the Devs should focus on making a new game instead of "burning themselves out on a single project" is just ridiculous. Just of course, throwing my two cents in.Īnd as I mentioned earlier, Wildermyth's full release was only a year ago. And frankly I feel like Wildermyth could be a great platform for several expansions and at the very least another 4 or 5 campaigns. Like Dawnguard (which was infinitely better than the actual game imho), Blood and Wine for TW3 and Citadel for ME3. Many companies choose to instead focus on updating a single game for years to come, and Some of the best content is often released in dlcs. It’s perfectly fine to update and add expansions to Wildermyth. My point was directed more towards the idea that they should stop updating Wildermyth and instead focus on a new game. And yeah, I think all the DLCs are around 200-ish? And they release a lot of content that IMO should be free updates as ‘story packs’. And they definitely at some point need to stop updating Stellaris and start on Stellaris 2. I agree! Paradox’s business model is a bit heavy on the monetization. And when I look at the list of DLCs from some of Paradox's other games, it takes hundreds of dollars to buy them all. ![]() ![]() I'm cool with that, but having played Stellaris for several years I get tired of exactly how much money they want to keep getting from me. ![]() One way or another game devs need to get paid, just like everybody else. If you *do* mind rebuying your game over and over, it's annoying AF.īasically it's a somewhat optional form of "game as a service" and it has its advantages and disadvantages. If you don't mind rebuying your game again and again, it works to keep it fresh and building in complexity. They turn a base game into a cash cow that they milk with DLCs and updates. Especially a game with as much potential as this one. Its not necessarily a bad thing for a game to have a long life. Fifth major expansion and that game was released in 2016.
